Oh, one of those meetings where people think it is important to exercise their "right to free speech" but ignore their "responsibility to listen"? I've wasted my time at several of those. It's too bad, as local, Colorado reform of healthcare is the discussion we need to be having. Yes, Obamacare needs to be repealed, but that is only the first step, and perhaps O'Care could be undermined by the states taking matters into their own hands now.

Cathy,

As I recall, neither Rep. Swalm nor Rep. Acree were afforded the opportunity to propose reforms.  During Linda Gorman's presentation of some charts and numbers some people started asking questions that when answered then they had issues with Ms. Gorman's answer from the research.  Both representatives tried to help get things on track and were only marginally successful.

If the room had been reserved for a longer period more might have been accomplished since the topic really is something for more than 90 minutes and two main speakers.

Cindy Acree usually has a really good townhall.  But this one was different and in my opinion there were several people who were not listening.

Did Reps. Swalm and Acree specify any specific Colorado healthcare reforms they would propose?

I arrived late and found that Rep. Spencer Swalm and Cindy Acree had arranged for a couple of speakers to present material on the PPACA (healthcare law).  The second speaker was Linda Gorman with the Independence Institute in Denver.

I am not certain that Ms. Gorman completed her presentation because of the questions and comments.

The townhall could have possibly continued longer if the library room time had been more flexible and both Spencer Swalm and Cindy Acree had candidate walks scheduled.

Good townhall.

I am sure that Spencer Swalm's assistant(s) has reserved at least one or two other dates on one of the libraries but I am not sure of dates.  I will post as many of these townhalls that I find out about for any of the representatives or senators.  If anyone sees any events that would be helpful to meet legislators/candidates please help get that information up so that folks can find these people.
