With revolutionary fervor sweeping the Middle East, Israel is under mounting pressure to make a far-reaching offer to the Palestinians or face a United Nations vote welcoming the State of Palestine as a member whose territory includes all of the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem.

The PA has been hard at work of late lining up votes in the UNGA for the recognition of the state of Palestine with pre ‘67 borders with the eastern part of Jerusalem as its capital. They intend to use the “Uniting for Peace” procedure to avoid a possible UNSC veto regardless of whether the procedure is legal. (See; The UN Charter Cannot Support GA Resolution 377). Were they to get such recognition the repercussions would be significant.

If Palestine can accomplish this, it may not have "legal" standing.  But, their goal is to make sure that the U.S. can not veto it.

Israel may try to go with the 1995 borders that were agreed upon.  Problem is it was agreed upon by the U.S. controlled and Israel.  Palestine never agreed to such borders.

U.S. may be putting themselves closer to the edge of a ledge that is taller than Jacob's ladder.  Our country will not be able to afford to be involved in others civil wars.
The 8.2 million dollars we give to Israel every single day in military aid alone will come to a screeching halt when our economy completely collapses.
I do believe that the U.N. is also getting tired of Israel breaking more than 65 U.N. resolutions and showing no remorse.
Israel should start playing nice before it is to late.
