There is an element of fraud built into the healthcare act ("Obamacare") that has not received much attention yet. People who receive subsidies on the insurance exchange should be aware that if there is an error in the amount of the subsidy that person will be held responsible even though there was a direct payment to an insurance company. There was a mention about this quite a while ago but not an explanation of how it worked. This article does a reasonable job of explaining.
Even if you do not have to deal with the exchange for insurance, you may want to note this so you can help explain it to someone who could encounter this problem.
No wonder there is so much discussion about other programs and "cutting waste, fraud, and abuse" when it seems the plan is to build the potential for "fraud" into the system.
