Event Description

Watch for details of the agenda.  One item may be Andy Peth answering questions about how to talk with non-conservatives about "choice."  His presentation in June was cut short; at the July 5 meeting he offered positive encouragement for the debates.  Andy will return to explain "message" and notes that his web site is:
The July 5 meeting was filled with information and a very lively debate.  First, Josiah Allis spoke about Colorado SB11-019 regarding health benefit payments of small employers.  Information and debate was focused on this bill and what it offers but some debate of SB11-200 entered the discussion.  If scheduling permits Josiah and perhaps some of the state representatives will be asked to join a discussion at a coming meeting.
Special guest was Colorado Secretary of State, Scott Gessler speaking on "Election Integrity."  Scott reported a number of reasons to support a photo ID at the polls, that Senator Bennet had asked DOJ to look into states passing voter ID laws, and commented that the Denver Post intended to print an opinion piece in the July 6 paper.
Two candidates for Aurora mayor attended the meeting and a very lively debate ensued between Ryan Frazier and Jude Sandvall particularly over the subject of the manner in which Gaylord Convention site was presented to, voted and accepted by Ryan Frazier and all the other members of the current city council.  Much of the debate was over the use of tax increment financing (TIF) to "Insentivize" projects of this sort.  To learn more about TIF:
So many things to discuss at our meetings and August 2 should be no exception no matter who or what is on the schedule.  Watch for further announcements.

I would like speak for a moment on the topic of what the current battle means for the next 14 months in the motion of public awakening.  I will stay up late tonight and try to compose my thoughts.

Not sure if I'll be able to attend. Things are a bit tight, right now. I will try, though.

Tea Parties, Establishment Republicans, The Christian Right, Gay
Republicans, Libertarians, Social Conservatives, Fiscal Conservatives,
etc., etc. . . .

Many fellow conservatives believe we are hopelessly divided. They say
we can neither unite our groups nor draw young voters and independents
to our ranks. Seeing only bad options, they insist we must either
compromise so much that our victories mean nothing, or demand total
agreement and thus lose most elections.

They are wrong. Absolutely wrong.

The Party Of Choice offers a new message of unity for all conservatives; one that unites us and draws others. Rather than dance around our differences, the Party Of Choice meets them head-on with a fresh respect for our foundations and the diversity those foundations allow.

We invite you to hear some tough talk on our shared conservative
principles, our mistakes, and most of all, our path to unity. Come hear The Party Of Choice.

I hope to see you at Tuesday's meeting,
Andy Peth
