For those looking for ammunition to eliminate the Department of Education, the following link presents an excellent history of the Progressive's takeover of our schools and of the involvement of the NEA.

Thank you, Joseph.  I believe our Founding Fathers would agree, stating we are derived from "nature and of nature's God."  As you have rightly pointed out, diminishing the individual is key to collectivism.  Once individuals are reduced to fractions of their entire worth, they become expendable.  This should have us all concerned.

The battle in which we are now engaged is between Individualism and Collectivism. The religious beliefs of Jews and Christians have always promoted the worth and responsibilities of the Individual. Why else should the Collectivists feel the urgent need to destroy these religions so as to make society and government the objects of reverence?

As a non-religious man, I would urge you to be contentious and to raise the religious argument. Do not apologize.  You have an absolute right to believe in and fight for those things which you value.

Our Individual Rights, whether derived from our Nature as Human Beings, or from God, are facing extinction at the hands of this government.

We need more people like you to speak the truth as you perceive it.

Thank you for sharing this link, Mr. Gabriele.  While those of us who are familiar with the course of public education may point out the infiltration of secular humanism, other (conservatives included) are not so keen.  It is sad to think that so many unwittingly buy in to the lie that all of life is relative, including our children's learning experiences.  Once upon a time our country's first schools were based on Biblical values.  Now that public education has removed those values and substituted them with licentiousness, our public schools are deteriorating ... despite the tax dollars poured in to them.  I say these things not to be contentious or to raise a religious argument, but to point out our nation's history.  There are some who, though they claim to be conservative, would omit a vast portion of our nation's heritage in order to replace it with their own ideology.
