Event Description

As a result of overriding scheduling of events, our new leader Randy Corporon and many of the people who regularly attend our monthly meetings will not be available for this date.  An alternate date is under review.  Watch for details of events.

At the meeting November 1, Randy Corporon volunteered and was voted to lead the group.  Randy was with a small group who met in December 2010 to discuss ideas for the group and brings a variety of activist experience to the leadership.

The November meeting included some representatives of other groups as well as radio people (Kenneth Clark from Grassroots Radio Colorado, Jimmy Sengenberger recent Regis graduate and substitute host for Backbone Radio and other shows, and Art Carlson with a blogtalk radio program "Art's Place").

There are a number of activities and events coming to become involved in.  One of the events to become informed about is the February 7 Caucus and there will be caucus training events promoted by various groups.  Caucus is where your representation starts so plan to turn out for this event in your local area.

Watch for further details for the December meeting as Randy makes them available.  The room was reserved at the Smoky Hill Library some time ago.  Plan to attend and get connected and informed.

The suggested schedule for the December 6 meeting is:
6:30 - 6:45:  introductions
6:45 - 7:00:  announcements
7:00 - 8:00:  agenda topics to be announced
8:00 - 8:30:  group "house-keeping," last-minute announcements,
8:30:  adjourn and socialize [room needs to have chairs stacked and tables moved]
9:00:  facilities close promptly
* If you have topics for discussion, meeting announcements for other groups, suggestions for speakers or topics, please add a comment below.

Note:  Library closes promptly at 9:00 p.m.

Disclaimer: "Granting of permission by the Arapahoe Library District to use library facilities does not constitute endorsement by the Library District Staff or Board of Trustees. " Only signs that are 8 ½ x 11 are allowed to be posted & only by the meeting room(s).
Many thanks to Roy Caldwell (with CCM-Denver) who assisted in reserving the room in Blossom's Restaurant at Heather Gardens for the October and November meeting dates.  The library was not available.  [Note:  Blossom's will have a remodeling project covering early 2012 and will not be available at all then.]
Meeting locations are challenging to find.  If anyone has suggestions, please add to the comments.  There are several groups looking for locations and there are obviously limitations to the availability of the various libraries' meeting rooms.

Note:  This meeting has not been rescheduled.  Watch for an announcement for the January meeting.

One of the conflicting events for which some of our members will be attending a holiday gathering for the Arapahoe County Republican Party where there will be a straw poll:
