Almost 50% of the funding of APS does not go to the elementary to high schools. It is in the hands of the bureaucracy.

Teachers receive about 30% of the APS funding.

The APS ‘on-time’ graduation rate is 45.5%.  Aurora Central High School’s graduation rate is much lower.

An average of 400 students become parents every year at Aurora Central High School

Dropouts from the class of 2008 will cost Colorado almost $4.3 billion in lost wages over their lifetimes.

Dropouts from the class of 2008 will cost Washington almost $7.3 billion in lost wages over their lifetimes.

If the male graduation rate were increased by only 5 percent, the nation would see an annual savings of $4.9 billion in crime-related costs.

Aurora Public Schools will be reducing $595,000 of classroom educational material from the budget.

WE MUST ELIMINATE THE BUREACRACY AND GET THE TEACHERS, STUDENTS and MONEY BACK IN THE CLASSROOM.

OUR and THEIR FUTURE DEPENDS ON IT.

Unfortunately I already have the Smoky Hill library reserved for this night for an ATP meeting. But it sounds like a worthwhile meeting.
