Save Your Gun Rights!
Tuesday & Wednesday
February 12th & 13th
*On Tuesday, February 12, House Bill 13-1224 and House Bill 13-1229 are scheduled to be heard in the House Judiciary Committee, at the Colorado Capitol, in the Old Supreme Court Chamber. HB13-1224, sponsored by Colorado Representative Rhonda Fields of Aurora (D-42), would ban magazines that hold more than ten rounds. HB13-1229, sponsored by Colorado Representatives Rhonda Fields and Beth McCann of the Whittier Neighborhood & Curtis Park, in Denver (D-8), would prohibit and criminalize the private transfer of firearms.
*On Wednesday, February 13 House Bill13-1226 will be heard by the House Education Committee, at the Colorado Capitol, upon adjournment in the Old Supreme Court Chamber, around 9:15 a.m. HB13-1226, sponsored by Colorado Representative Clare Levy of Boulder (D-13), would repeal the current right to carry a concealed firearm for self-defense on a college or university campus.
*On Wednesday, February 13 House Bill 13-1228 will be heard by the House Finance Committee at 1:30 pm, in the Old Supreme Court Chamber, on the second floor. HB13-1228, sponsored by state Representative Lois Court of Bonnie Brae, Polo Club, & Cherry Creek (D-6), would require law-abiding citizens to pay a fee (or gun TAX) for a background check when purchasing a firearm. Once this 'fee' is instituted, they can increase it until it makes purchasing a gun prohibitive.
Please read the above paragraphs closely for times and locations.
List of helpful items to know before you arrive at the capitol building is available on this page because of the length:
Some of these hearings are lengthy so a bottle of water would probably be helpful.
These are not the only bills and committees working. Many of the bills before the legislature are problematic and an attack on many liberties of all of the citizens of Colorado. Please get informed and get involved.
There are also townhalls coming on the schedule. While the legislature needs oversight, local municipalities, counties, school districts, and others are not functioning very well.
For those who cannot get to the capitol, hearings are available via audio links (left side of the following web page):

Laurie Bratten posted this item for a bill in committee hearing at the capitol Wednesday afternoon. If you can offer testimony or just attend that would be a good thing. Any citizen can attend these hearings:
"CO Rep Jared Wright's bill to help fight against NDAA is in committee tomorrow. HB 13-1045 If you would like to testify, it's in the House State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee at 1:30."
Liberty Tracker is another Colorado web site to connect with:
List is from Firearms for Colorado (.org):
There is a general run down of the bills coming our way:

What else?
There are several new legislators on these committees. They have never had to deal with an avalanche of emails, phone calls, and activists attending their hearings. We need to OVERWHELM them with emails and phone calls. If you cannot go to the Capitol this week, please call and email these new legislators. They need to know that gun owners are diligent and will not stand for gun registration (Beth McCann's bill).
