Event Description

I have accepted the responsibility as one of the local coordinators to get people aware of the upcoming Tea Party Nomination Process, not for third party but for conservative candidates.  This will give some candidates for 2012 a head start in the caucus process and it sounds like a powerful idea.  I believe that delegates from Colorado will be needed to attend and cast the representative votes.  I will find out more and get back with you all soon.

  • Mission Statement

To conduct a national "grassroots" Tea Party movement nominating convention for the offices of President and Vice President of the United States, as a fifty state Tea Party "straw poll," in Kansas City on Sept. 30th through Oct. 2th; at the same time providing each state's Tea Party and 9.12 groups a caucus area to rally and discuss their local, state, and national candidates and any legislation or issues important to their independent groups.

Changes:  The event will be in Kansas City, KS at the Woodlands Race Track.  Due to a date conflict with NASCAR on the dates originally scheduled, we have also moved the dates up a week.  Set up will now be Sept. 28 and 29 and the festivities will begin on Sept. 30 and run through Sunday Oct. 2nd.

You are welcome to begin contacting groups now.  I also want to make a clarification that some of the other regional coordinators have had questions about.  The ONLY groups that will be allowed a delegate will be Tea Party/Patriot/We The People/9-12 groups.  Republican Clubs are welcome to have a vendor booth set up, but they will not be allowed to have a delegate.

The website is transitioning to display a new banner and the location and dates will be updated on the website very soon.

I look forward to KC. I regret not being able to attend Wed. 3/8/11's event at Smokey Hill - scheduling conflicts. Will make the next meeting though. ~ Bill

I have relatives in Kansas City, so would have a place to stay if I attend. I'm curious, though, what others think of endorsing specific candidates versus issues?

Thanks Wilma

I actually had no idea there were that many groups in Colorado.  I was only aware of the 20-30 or so that were involved with the Coalition.  Judging from the expeted turn out to K.C. there could be thousands to 10's of thousands showing up with about 1/3 being delegates from the groups to vote on the staw pole.  As far as sending someone it would all be out of pocket so there I am out of contention.  Some might have local family or trips to the area to make it easier.  The concept is to keep it away from D.C. and their overpriced hotels.

Fredrick, I am not sure how correct the information is but it has been commented on radio recently by other leaders of 9-12 et al groups that there are 96 liberty groups in just Colorado.  Your estimate of 20-30 seems extremely conservative .

Not all groups would be able to afford to send a representative.

Looking forward to more updates.  Thank you.

I have some more news.  The event will be open to all that wish to attend however only regestered Tea Party, 9-12, and Liberty Groups will be able to have delegate votes.  I will contact William to find out if we each get one delegate or two.  With the number of Liberty Groups in Colorado, approximatley 20-30, we could have dozens of votes representing our State.
