Centennial Institute's Issue Monday "Must the Left Control the Campuses?"
"How can higher education effectively prepare students for life, work, and citizenship if it hews to a one-sided leftist political view and spurns intellectual diversity? Despite a few brave institutions like CCU and Hillsdale pushing back, the larger public and private colleges brook little dissent from liberal progressive orthodoxy. But the University of Colorado at Boulder, to its credit, annually appoints a visiting scholar in conservative thought and policy.
This year it’s Bradley J. Birzer, a professor of history at Hillsdale and holder of its Russell Kirk Chair in American Studies. Join us for an evening of discussion with Dr. Birzer about how to counteract the closing of the academic mind."
