    Hello Cathy

So much has been happening this last week that I almost missed your membership. I want to thank you for your interest and I look forward to meeting you at an event or meeting soon. Please look for a newsletter to come in the next few days and let me know if you would be available for any committees. We are currently preparing for a big year and will be building groups in the next weeks and months. Please also join your district group on the bottom of our main page.

    Thanks
    Fredrick Lindner

am interested in exchangeing emails with other ATP members regarding activities, websites, points of view, etc. My wife and I recently joined, and thus far have had no contact with other members, other than the library meeting on the 19th. If interested please respond. My email is scott_1943@comcast .net. My wife Donna and I are semi-retires, live across the street from the parking lot on the south side of Mission Viejo park, and looking to know who the "group" is we have joined.

Hi Cathy.  The 'short' answer to your question is 'yes to all of the above' although the pace of Federal spending has to be reigned in first along with the state of Colorado.

    Cathy,

thank you for your welcoming comment.  Since we are only temporarily situated (ie living in a motor home parked in a trailer park), I do not feel in a position to organize and run an event.

After doing a little more searching, I found a group in Broomfield planning an event for the Flash Mob of Kindness.  I plan to get involved with their event. If you or anyone is interested you can check it out at http://www.meetup.com/InGodWeTrustProject/

If you find anyone in this group planning to be a part of the Flash Mob of Kindness, please, feel free to let me know, and I may be able to participate in both groups.

    Cathy,

I am planning to attend the Broomfield planning meeting Tuesday morning.  I will talk to them about including members from the Arapahoe Tea Party that are interested in being part of the Flash Mob of Kindness.  I'll get a contact and get back to you as soon as I know anything.

Hi Cathy...I've been looking for you at ATP so I could give you the info on the Poll Daddy you requested.  But I was looking for Kathy, not Cathy...

Here's the link to poll daddy.  Sign up for an account.

    Poll Daddy Website

I used the "free account".  It gives you 10 questions and hopefully that gives you enough of an opportunity to ask everyone's opinions.  Once you sign up for an account, it will give you the survey format, and it's very easy to add questions. Once you're satisfied with the questions, you can post the link on ATP website. The results will come to your personal email box I think.  Be sure to give it a deadline, or people will take forever to respond.  Good luck!

    Cathy,

I attended the planning meeting for the Flash Mob of Kindness in Broomfield today with members of  the group InGodWeTrust, 9-12 Project.  There were nine of us.  They would welcome any and all members of this ATP who want to participate.  There are several ways we could participate:

    (1)  donation of items

    (2)  donation of time to assemble bags

    (3)  donation of time to hand out bags

They are looking at a Work Force Center (Employment office on Steed and Colfax).  One of the members plans to find out what time classes are so we can arrange to be there at a time when a lot of people are there on 4/21.

This may be too far north for members of the ATP.  It was suggested we could choose a closer Work Force center to make our donations.  We would need to choose one, coordinate a time when they would have people attending employment classes. etc.

We settled on donating bags with a minimum of ten items (more is ok but not necessary)

    suggested items:

1 pound bags – beans, pintos, kidney, etc
    1 pound bags rice
    Peanut Butter
    Jelly
Canned Goods -Vegetables, ravioli, beans, spaghetti sauce, etc.
Canned Meat – chicken, beef, tuna, etc.
Canned Fruits – of any flavor
Box of Pasta/Starch – Mac & Cheese, Rice-a-Roni, Potatoes, etc.
    Canned Soups
    Hot Chocolate
    Instant cups of soup
    Cereal
Non-food items – Shampoos, lotions, tooth brushes & paste, soap, etc. (Sample sizes or hotel freebies are also welcomed.)

A dead line of April 14th was agreed on.  With plans to meet to assemble the bags.  By using paper bags we write a message of Hope and Love as well as note who we are.  (I have 14 bags w/handles).  It would be great if we could fill those 14 bags.  If more are needed, I can get more of the same.

Cathy, further to my comment on Flash Mob of Kindness with the InGodWeTrust 9-12 project.

I am not in a position to be the collection point for donations.  I may be able to get the club house reserved here in Aurora (near I-225 and Colfax) as a place to assemble the bags.  Unless there is a different member of the ATP who can host it at their home.  We would need to decide on a location and a time for Thursday 4/14 to assemble the bags.  We would need a location to store assembled bags until 4/21 when they would be handed out.

The Broomfield group is thinking about doing this once a month, at different locations, with different items collected depending on the location for that month.

Some ideas of where we could do this monthly (feel free to add ideas)

    Battered Women Centers
Civic Center Park – Host hotdog BBQ’s on Sat or Sun-give small bags of toiletries.
    Colfax Avenue – Box Lunches
Hospital Resident Facilities (for families with someone in the hospital)
    Retirement Homes / Senior Centers
    Teen Mom Centers
Trailer/Camping Parks – Many who are between jobs are now living in these parks
    Workforce Centers

Currently the Broomfield group has a second meeting scheduled for:

    Thursday, April 14, 2011 10:00 AM
    Butler Res
    13414 Locust St
    Thornton, CO 80602

If members of the ATP want, they can attend the meeting on the 14th in Thornton, if we are unable to schedule one here in our area.  Members of the ATP are welcome to help hand out bags on the 21st at the Work Force center on Steed and Colfax if we are unable to schedule one closer.

I think this covers my notes from the meeting today.  Because I am so new to this group and the area, I have no idea how to notify members of the ATP or how to coordinate collecting and assembling the donations.  Your help would be appreciated.

Nice to meet you Cathy, thank you for making me feel welcome.

    Cathy,

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the meeting on Tuesday evening.  I listen to a conservative radio station, and had heard about the Denver/Aurora/Gaylord project, but I really didn't have enough knowledge to form an opinion.  the meeting really helped.

Do you always meet the first Tuesday of the month?  Beginning in Sept. I have a church meeting commitment on that day each month...so I hope I have other opportunties.  thanks.  Ann
