Event Description

Bring your ideas.

Arapahoe County Tea Party will be meeting at Blossom's Restaurant banquet room at Heather Gardens for November 1 because Smoky Hill Library is one of the voting locations on this election day.  I encourage you to arrive early and try the dinner buffet ($6.95) or consider an adult beverage from the bar, arrive early and visit a bit at:

Blossoms Restaurant at Heather Gardens
2888 South Heather Gardens Way #3
Aurora, Colorado  80014

Currently a speaker has not been scheduled for the meeting.  The main topic for discussion will be ideas for leadership for this group and organization.  The group needs leadership and goals for the coming year.
The suggested schedule for the meeting is:

6:30 - 6:45:  introductions
6:45 - 7:00:  review announcement handout*
7:00 - 8:00:  Discuss leadership selection or organization changes for our group
8:00 - 8:30:  group "house-keeping," last-minute announcements, updates
8:30:  adjourn and socialize [room needs to have tables cleared]
9:00:  facilities are closed
* If you have topics for discussion, meeting announcements for other groups, suggestions for speakers or topics, please add a comment below or call Wilma at (303) 690-5401 so a handout can be prepared before the meeting.
****************
Note:  The needs for leadership for the group were tabled for future discussion at the September meeting after Cathy Mitchell resigned and were continued tabled at the October meeting because of small attendance.  Suggestions and volunteers are helpful and appreciated.  Discussion of ideas over dinner prior to the meeting might be worthwhile to warm up and incorporate in the meeting.

the rest of the handout:

December 6, 2011 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) -- Arapahoe County Tea Party monthly meeting will be at Smoky Hill Library on Smoky Hill Road

December 6-8, 2011 -- Premier of the documentary "spOILed" by West Wave Films.  This film will show at 3 metro area theaters and exact dates and times are to be announced.  The theaters have only committed for these dates.  Watch for news of this film.  Check out the trailer at:

Watch for event announcements for "caucus training" for how to become representative of your precinct at caucuses or become precinct leaders or district captains.  There are some training videos from 2009 and there may be a link under the videos on the Arapahoe County Tea Party web site.  It is important if you are a registered "Republican" to learn about how this works and there are many ways to get involved.  Arapahoe County GOP will be looking for volunteers for organizing packets of information since there will be a short turnaround time between release of the maps from the courts, the county clerks get information to political parties, and meet the February 7 caucus date.  Get involved.

Check web site and support Clear the Bench Colorado regarding the justices and courts.  The current issues tracked include the redistricting/reapportionment maps among other issues.  Keep them in mind when making donations.

I HOPE ALL MEMBERS OF ATP WILL ATTEND THIS MEETING AND BRING FRIENDS AND FAMILY.  WITH THE PRESIDENCY AND SENATE UP FOR GRABS IN 2012, WE ALL NEED A BATTLE PLAN.  ARAPAHOE COUNTY IS ONE OF THREE COUNTIES IN THE NATION TARGETED BY THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION IN 2012.  LIBERTY GROUPS ALL OVER THE STATE ARE GETTING ORGANIZED AND PREPARING TO GET ACTIVE.  LET'S NOT ALLOW OBAMA TO TAKE COLORADO BY SNEAKING OUR COUNTY OUT OF OUR HANDS.  PLEASE RSVP TO THIS WEBSITE ASAP.  THANKS!!

Note that Blossom's has only been a temporary meeting place.  Blossom's will have a remodeling project and it will be closed for a while in early 2012.

Smoky Hill Library meeting room was reserved some time ago for the December 6 meeting.  There are several groups looking for meeting locations starting in January.  So meeting locations may also be discussed at the November meeting.
