By the way, Lefty activists, I know you are now looking at the Tea Party activism of 2009-10 as sort of a model.

"Dear Openforum:

As a Colorado native and proud 1960's Denver Post "paperboy," I was saddened, though not surprised, to see my first employer marginalize Ted Cruz and the T(axed) E(nough) A(lready) Party movement that elected him.

Rather than do your job by reminding Americans across the nation about increased health premiums, reduced health choices, lost full-time jobs, and exceptions for the president and staff, Congress and staff, unions and, now, employers with the stroke of a presidential pen, I'll simply say this:

Senator Cruz's defunditnow.com petition now has over 1.9 million signatures, and counting. The national organization Tea Party Patriots, one of many and started in a kitchen in 2009, has 1.2 million "likes" on its Facebook page, and counting. The historic 2010 Republican state and national landslide was fueled by this energy and commitment.

2014 elections are around the corner. Democrats, get ready. Republicans, pay attention. We're not going away.

I have taken a significant amount of calls, texts and interactions regarding my post earlier today about AFP "supporting" Marco Rubio and the Gang of 8 Amnesty Travesty Bill. https://www.facebook.com/randy.corporon?ref=tn_tnmn Most have been very supportive, and a few have been very angry.

Certainly, Sean Paige and many several hard-working AFP and other activist group supporters have made it quite clear to me that AFP and similar groups, like Arapahoe Tea Party or Tea Party Patriots for that matter, typically take no official stands on candidates or issues. They argue for principles, organization, and unity. And some of those activists aren't very happy with me.

I believe the debate over the Schumer/Rubio immigration bill represents a foundational moment in our history, violative of limited representative government, the rule of law, national sovereignty, Republican electoral success, and just plain common sense. Republicans who fail to remember history are doomed to repeat it. Only this time, if the open-border, amnesty-first crowd has its way, it will lead to permanent Republican minorities within a decade. It's pandering at its worst, reactionary, and ill-conceived. Immigration has NOTHING to do with why Mitt Romney lost the presidency (or why there are 30 Republican governors and 26 or 27 (but who's counting?) Republican majority State Houses for that matter).

So, featuring the face and voice of the deforming immigration movement at a rally (one that I've attended, loved, and hung out briefly with great conservatives like Andrew Breitbart and Mark Levin before if I'm not confusing events) called Defending the American Dream rubs me entirely the wrong way.

But, to make it 100% clear, AFP DOES NOT SUPPORT OR ENDORSE RUBIO, THE AMNESTY BILL, OR OTHER POLITICIANS OR ISSUES. They are a forum, and a powerful one. My use of the word "support" referenced providing Rubio another big stage, not their official position on anything or anyone.

I know Rubio is a celebrity, but he is certainly not defending the American Dream. He is trying to give it away.

The only way to sustain Medicare benefits for everyone 55 and over is to change the program for those of us who are younger. It's the classic, well-known and prime problem with Socialism. Eventually, you run out of other people's money.

The choice of Paul Ryan as VP was vintage Mitt Romney. He has identified the problem: massive out-of-control government regulation and outspending the tax revenue received by over $1 trillion per year since the inception of Obama-ism while strangling the economy's efforts to breathe. Then, he selected the most intelligent, trusted (even by revered Democrats like Erskine Bowles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbzpuqWo6yU), charismatic and fiscally knowledgeable running mate he could have chosen. Did I forget to say, youthful, handsome and loved by women? Paul Ryan has put Florida, Ohio and Wisconsin in play for Romney, where Obama is tied or trails according to Rasmussen polling released today http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll. Romney was leading in Colorado before Ryan, Romney surging now.

Everyone believed Obama when he said Bush was unpatriotic to add $4 trillion to the deficit in eight years. Obama has added almost $6 trillion in less than four years with an accelerating trajectory up. Everyone believed Obama when he said he would cut the deficit in half in his first term or he would be a one-term proposition. No one believes they are better off today than when Obama was elected.

Our country was founded and achieved greatness (most secure, most prosperous, most charitable in the history of the world) on the principles of free market Capitalism, limited government, and individual responsibility. R/R believe in those principles. The country has seen what Obama believes in. Favorability down, can't crack 50%, undecideds won't go his way, has a record plus his myriad broken promises, and tells people like me that "I didn't build that."

Obama has never won a tough election. His team is in panic mode and the desperation shows. In spite of how weak John McCain was as a candidate, in spite of Bush exhaustion syndrome, and in spite of the Hail Mary pass with the selection of Sarah Palin, until the economic meltdown in October of 2008, Obama was losing in the polls. At the same time he was, in addition to calming the seas, talking of himself as a great, moderate uniter. Instead, he is the most divisive president in history, bar none, and he is doubling down. And everyone knows it and can see it.

November 2010 was the shot across the Progressive bow. Had Obama been on the ballot, he would already be gone. Since then, we have claimed the Ted Kennedy seat, unseated Richard Lugar, retained Scott Walker, and nominated Ted Cruz in Texas, to name an attractive few. In New York City, D.C., Sacramento and other Liberal bastions, people rally against protecting traditional marriage and preserving innocent unborn children. They don't care about religious liberty, preventing Iran from finalizing a nuclear weapon, or protecting the Democratic State of Israel. The rest of us do.

Obama is toast, and his racist, chain-loving sidekick should have been put out to pasture years ago. What an embarrassment.

Other than that, I'm not sure what I think.

Love,

Randy Corporon

John signed copies of his book, and two hours were clearly not enough. The library literally had to throw us out!

Thanks to all for a fast-moving, action-packed and informative evening.
I want to thank, commend and congratulate all the phenomenal people who came together with such passion, integrity and love of country to unite behind perhaps the most inspiring and charismatic person I have had the pleasure to hear live (3 times), and meet and talk to (twice), Herman Cain.

I did a commentary on a radio show earlier this week about how horrific it is that any candidate could be forced to even consider stopping a remarkable run like Mr. Cain's on mere accusations and press frenzy, especially in a country where John F Kennedy (the last conservative Democrat president) is idolized in spite of his dalliances and the criminal history that led to the family's original wealth and aristocracy; his brother, Ted, is deemed the Lion of the Senate in spite of Chappaquiddick; Bill Clinton is elected in spite of the Arkansas sex scandals and is a Liberal hero and statesman in spite of Monica Lewinski, etc.; and Barack Obama is elected as the hope and change savior that will bring factions together, cut the deficit in half in his first term, and restore the standing of the Unites States in the world without a shred of experience and a history of Alinsky radicalism, community organizing, voting present constantly as a legislator yet voting against legislation to save babies who don't die during an abortion, and associating with the Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wrights of the world.

Yet, this is the world in which we live, and the purpose and function of the primary sources of media which we must constantly challenge, question and overcome. I have met and supported 4 of the primary candidates so far, and had decided early on to not pick one to throw all my marbles behind, but rather to continue to encourage them and point out strengths and weaknesses from my perspective as the process unfolded. I strongly encourage, hope and pray that any of us that are thinking that there is no one left to place our support and energy behind, or are considering withdrawing from the process altogether or, worse yet, simply staying home on election day, please take a few days to let the pain subside, the deflation and sense of wasted time, trust and dreams recede, then start reassessing the field that remains.

We have or will have children and grandchildren, and a sacred and moral duty as people whose friends, relatives and ancestors fought and died for our system of government, the greatest ever conceived in the history of the world warts and all, to stay engaged, stay active, and stay focused on the most important task in the most important election of our lifetimes, defeating Barack Obama.

Our nation may already be to a point where it is hard to still define us as a constitutional republic. If we allow four more years of an Obama presidency, with his misuse of executive and administrative influence and his belief in the failing European Socialist model, we will never get back to the freedom, the prosperity, the focus on charity and the belief in personal responsibility that was the gift of our Founding Fathers.

I encourage all of us over the next few days and weeks to use these pages and our other methods of communication to begin assessing those that remain in the race, and to remember that, even though we will nominate a candidate with flaws and many positions about which we will often disagree, with an ever-more conservative House of Representatives, and a (hopefully conservative) Republican majority in the Senate, even a more political or less conservative president will be constrained by the other branches of government and will be more inclined to listen to the will of the American People. We would all like much more, but we still have within our grasp the ability to stop the train wreck that is clearly and obviously underway with the current class-warfare-ing, energy killing, American people bashing, imperialistic campaigner-in-chief.

We cannot give up, and we cannot forsake the better or the good because we don't have the option this time of the perfect or the best. Let's rest up, vent, clean up the blood, bandage our wounds, and get back out to the next battle. Every war has its casualties, and this is a war for the soul and the future of a nation. God bless us all, and God bless and protect the United States of America.
Pro Choice?tag:arapahoeteaparty.ning.com,2011-11-20:3186561:BlogPost:317722011-11-20T04:33:03.000ZRandy B Corporonhttp://arapahoeteaparty.ning.com/profile/RandyBCorporon
