During the radio show Randy offered a couple of plugs for a "Honk and Wave" that was organized by the South East Aurora Republicans in appreciation of a "Grand Opening" of an Obama campaign office. That new office is located in the Target shopping center complex at Gartrell and E-470.
The merry band at last count numbered 20 people who brought Romney signs or homemade signs (i.e., an Ann Romney for first lady) or comments on "Obamacare." Encouragement for the effort was made apparent by the number of drivers of vehicles small to great (motorcycles to semi-tractor-trailers) waving or honking. It would seem that the area has many conservative minded people.
It really was sad that when the staff of the campaign office learned of this display that they felt compelled to try to organize something similar. They created the first and only handmade Obama sign in memory--huge hand-lettered--and an adult brought a couple of perhaps teenagers down to the corner to hold their sign and then she returned to the office. Eventually, at least 6 people represented their office on the corner but very few people honked for them. After about 15 minutes or so that group headed back to their new office.
I left a message for Randy to convey on the radio but he had the screener call me back. The short report can be heard in the podcast near the beginning of the second hour.

Besides doing phone banks which are very important, perhaps some impromptu "Honk and Wave" events may be a good idea.
Sorry that Randy missed us, but he reported later that for the "Grand Opening" they were serving shrimp, cheese, chips, pudding, watermelon. Now was that a pre-approved menu from DC?
