In the Colorado House "State, Veterans, and Military Affairs" Committee there will be a hearing at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, of testimony regarding HB13-1303.
Arapahoe County Clerk/Recorder Matt Crane posted the following message on the Facebook page:
"HB 1303 threatens the integrity of our elections here in Colorado by allowing unfettered same day voter registration. Same day voter registration, without strong photo identification requirements, increases the risk of voter fraud and unnecessarily threatens our elections process.
I strongly encourage everyone to call your elected representatives and ask that they vote against same day voter registration. If you need the contact information for your elected representatives, please visit www.arapahoevotes.com and click on “My Voting Info.”
Also, you can get regular updates about the Arapahoe County Clerk & Recorder’s Office here on Facebook. Please like our page at www.facebook.com/Arapahoevotes. "
The bill can be found at:
Please read the editorial in the Pueblo Chieftain titled "Invitation for fraud" that was posted this Sunday. There are some good comments regarding the 122-page bill.
PLEASE, if at all possible attend the hearing and register your comments in person. If you cannot attend, please call, send e-mails, or even mail letters to your representative and senator regarding your concerns.
Also please contact your county clerk's office and encourage them to not support this bill if that is your position.
The hearings can be heard via on-line links that can be found at:

Note that the legislators may be able to read your written messages during floor debates and other instances.
Get involved. Note that there are other bills that are also problematic in both houses for this week and beyond.
