SUMMARY:Backbone Radio w/ Matt Dunn and Krista Kafer
DESCRIPTION:Radio hosts, Matt Dunn and Krista Kafer, will offer their
commentary on events both cultural and political.\n \nTheir guest wil
l be \"Charles R. Kesler, a senior fellow of the Claremont Institute a
nd professor of government at Claremont McKenna College.  We'll discu
ss his brilliant new book I Am the Change: Barack Obama and the Crisis
of Liberalism.\n \nKesler's lively analysis shows where the presiden
t fits into the \"liberal\" tradition of American politics dating back
to 19th Century.  How does Obama want to \"transform\" America? Why
do both his supporters and his opponents misunderstand Obama?  Is Ame
rican liberalism on its last legs or about to be reborn?\n\nAnd what w
ill be President Obama's legacy?  Here's a hint-- Obama's policies on
health care, taxation and regulation have pushed America further towa
rd the European model of social democracy.  As aging European welfare
states (think Greece) presently hit the wall of deficits and debt, Ob
ama's outrageous spending habits are hastening our own encounter with
the wall.\n \nMeanwhile, the new Census Bureau report paints a grim p
icture of America 2012: Median household income falling, some 2.3 mill
ion more Americans on Medicaid, and a record 46.2 million Americans li
ving in poverty.  All this under a president who once said, \"Let's b
e the generation that ends poverty in America.\"\n\nWhen you consider
that a record 45 million Americans are now on food stamps and a record
11 million are collecting federal disability checks - things aren't p
retty these days.\n\nThis week four Americans lost their lives in Liby
a, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, when violent protests erupted a
cross North Africa ostensibly over a lame, low-budget film. While the
blame sits squarely with the murderers and their twisted excuses, some
are wondering if the incoherent foreign policy from this administrati
on has emboldened radical elements abroad.\n\nOn the bright side, Russ
ian scientists are planning to clone a wooly mammoth from frozen mammo
th tissue. We've got more hope for this Jurassic Park adventure than f
or what lies ahead under this president.\"\n \nDon’t miss it! Tune
in to 710 KNUS or 1460 KZNT Colorado Springs or online at http://www.7
10knus.com/ from 5 to 8 PM. Your smart choice for Sunday night radio.\
