SUMMARY:Backbone Radio w/ Matt Dunn and Krista Kafer
DESCRIPTION:Radio hosts, Matt Dunn and Krista Kafer, will offer their
commentary on events both cultural and political.\n \n\"It’s been a
n eventful, energizing week. We'll take a cruise through our favorite
takeaway moments from the Republican National Convention. There are pl
enty of them like Mitt Romney's crisp summary of the case he’s makin
g to the American people—“President Obama promised to slow the ris
e of the oceans and to heal the planet. My promise... is to help you a
nd your family.” Instead of far-flung rhetorical utopianism, Romney
is offering practical help for tough times. It may not be poetic, but
it is certainly persuasive.\n \nClint Eastwood offered his own summar
ium, in his own High Plains Drifter sort of way, and managed to make o
ur day, with that little remark. “And when somebody does not do the
job, we gotta let them go.”\n \nWe’ll also preview the coming att
ractions of next week's Democrat National Convention. Can they respond
? If so, how? And what can they possibly say to glorify the grim of th
e past four years? We’ll offer our hypotheses. Perhaps the public me
ltdowns of Chris Matthews offer some indication of the present left-wi
ng state of mind.\n \nWe also have two terrific guests. Linda Gorman
of the Independence Institute will tell us about her new paper The Rea
l Cost of ObamaCare. Succinct and eminently readable, the paper provid
es all the ammunition you need to win an argument about this disastrou
s, costly law.  We’ll also talk with Michael Poliakoff of the Ameri
can Council of Trustees and Alumni about the state of higher education
 . Let's just say it isn’t pretty.\n \nMeanwhile, we’ll mourn the
loss of Blinky the Clown, who’s now gone up to that great “Fun Clu
b” in the sky. Growing up in Denver, the good-natured, gravelly-voic
ed clown was a fixture of childhood for both of us.\"\n \nDon’t mis
s it! Tune in to 710 KNUS or 1460 KZNT Colorado Springs or online at h
ttp://www.710knus.com/ from 5 to 8 PM. Your smart choice for Sunday ni
 ght radio.\n \n\nFor more information visit http://arapahoeteaparty.n
