Event Description

Radio hosts, Matt Dunn and Krista Kafer, will offer their commentary on events both cultural and political.

"It’s been an eventful, energizing week. We'll take a cruise through our favorite takeaway moments from the Republican National Convention. There are plenty of them like Mitt Romney's crisp summary of the case he’s making to the American people—“President Obama promised to slow the rise of the oceans and to heal the planet. My promise... is to help you and your family.” Instead of far-flung rhetorical utopianism, Romney is offering practical help for tough times. It may not be poetic, but it is certainly persuasive.

Clint Eastwood offered his own summarium, in his own High Plains Drifter sort of way, and managed to make our day, with that little remark. “And when somebody does not do the job, we gotta let them go.”

We’ll also preview the coming attractions of next week's Democrat National Convention. Can they respond? If so, how? And what can they possibly say to glorify the grim of the past four years? We’ll offer our hypotheses. Perhaps the public meltdowns of Chris Matthews offer some indication of the present left-wing state of mind.

We also have two terrific guests. Linda Gorman of the Independence Institute will tell us about her new paper The Real Cost of ObamaCare. Succinct and eminently readable, the paper provides all the ammunition you need to win an argument about this disastrous, costly law.  We’ll also talk with Michael Poliakoff of the American Council of Trustees and Alumni about the state of higher education. Let's just say it isn’t pretty.

Meanwhile, we’ll mourn the loss of Blinky the Clown, who’s now gone up to that great “Fun Club” in the sky. Growing up in Denver, the good-natured, gravelly-voiced clown was a fixture of childhood for both of us."

Don’t miss it! Tune in to 710 KNUS or 1460 KZNT Colorado Springs or online at http://www.710knus.com/ from 5 to 8 PM. Your smart choice for Sunday night radio.
