Aurora Public School Board Candidate Forum

The Aurora Public Schools Board of Education will host a school board candidate forum. The League of Women Voters of Arapahoe County will moderate. Candidates will answer questions at this event, which is free and open to the public.

Wednesday, October 16 at  6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Four of the seven 4-year positions, which are elected at-large, are up for election this year. These positions are currently held by Jane Barber, Jeanette Carmany, Matt Cook, and JulieMarie Shepherd. The five candidates for these seats are:

Jasper Armstrong, an educator who currently works as a youth intervention specialist

Amber Drevon, a parent and martial arts instructor

Eric Nelson, a CSU professor

JulieMarie Shepherd, the current Aurora School Board president who was elected in 2009 and appointed as its president in 2012, works as a researcher for the Colorado Department of Education

Barbara Yamrick, an educator who has served on the Aurora School Board in the past
