On September 11, 2011, we will mark the 10th anniversary of the day that forever changed American society by launching the 9/11 Freedom Rally, a huge event encompassing a Memorial Field, Colorado’s Fallen Heroes Memorial Ride, 5K walk/run, bicycle tour, and an all-day public festival with cultural activities, concerts, food, vendors and other fun for the whole family. All net proceeds from the 9/11 Freedom Rally will support nonprofit organizations that support veterans, active duty military, first responders and their families.

Multiple organizations and sponsors have come together to create this unique event, and we are actively seeking additional organizations, individuals and sponsors to also take part. We are anticipating 25,000 or more attendees at this event in the Denver metro area.

The mission of the 9/11 Freedom Rally, organized by nonprofit organizations, is to reclaim the date of September 11 each year as a time of honoring and helping instead of just mourning. Although we will never forget those whose lives were lost in the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks in New York City, at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania, we believe we must refocus this date toward honoring and celebrating those who continue to serve us daily, including military veterans, active duty military personnel, and first responders such as police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel, as well as their families.

Besides honoring, we believe in helping. The Rallies, to be held each year, will help raise much-needed funding for numerous nonprofit groups that serve those whom we honor.

The 9/11 Freedom Rally is a full day of fun and activities for the whole family on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011. The main Rally will take place at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City Colorado, within the Denver metropolitan area.
